BonniE porter Greene

Bonnie Porter Greene: painter, explorer.
Bonnie explores her love of the landscape through reflective studio practice & en plein air excursions resulting in direct and honest painted memories of the landscape. Her paintings imbue her connection and concern for the environment.
Always involved in an array of creative and community engagement projects, an artistic response will always follow interactions with nature that have impacted significantly upon her.
Completing an Ad. Dip Fine Arts - Painting & Printmaking (Distinction) in 1999 at West Wollongong TAFE, Bonnie has since gone on to work for Bundanon Trust’s Collection, Artist In Residence Program & Front of House at Bundanon Open Day’s for a decade, raise a family and return to her painting roots, producing regular successful selling exhibitions over the past 7 years, while establishing her creative studio collator, encompassing murals, graphic design and creative workshops for adults & youth.
Primarily a painter, she responds emotionally to a place, drawing on that emotion in the studio, intuitively playing with the painting process, allowing the lines, forms, colours and gestures to appear on the canvas without any plan or pressure of an end result.
So the images that appear – gestures of mountain ranges, graffiti walls, the Australian bush and from time to time, pop culture references - are direct and honest painted memories of the landscape and built environments that surround her.
As a 2020 recipient of the Shoalhaven Arts Board ‘A Sense of Place’ grant, Bonnie & her poet collaborator Nicole Smede, succesfully published a book of poems & paintings based on their 20x20x12 project.
Bonnie’s work can be found in private collections across Australia, the US & Hong Kong, in and on commercial buildings - and if you look hard enough, on the street in Austria, Indonesia and Australia.
Bonnie was the receipient of a 2022 Shoalhaven City Council Australia Day Award for Outstanding Contributions to Arts & Culture.
In 2023, Bonnie will begin an internship at Arterie, RPA & Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Sydney.
Represented by Gallery Jennings Kerr Robertson NSW.
