Kate Coyne
Kate’s work explores colour, shape and line, how they push and pull against one another and their relationship to nature.
Her current research is based around spatial tension, nature and the recreation of spaces and places. Recent works explore the use of vibrant Series 7 colours as a structural material. As a painter, her work has been included in number of group shows and in a solo show in early 2018. Kate has been a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize, the Women’s Art Prize and Ravenswood Art Prize.
A graduate of Sydney College of the Arts/Sydney University, she was the recipient of the Painting Prize in 2017 and a scholarship to spend a semester in Boston at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
